Smart Search is a service of Michigan Press Association, created to help you stay informed with state, county and local government announcements. These legal and public notices are required by law to be printed in local newspapers across the state of Michigan. Smart Search service can help you track the legal and public notices relevant to you.

After signing up and inputting the keywords you need to track, Smart Search will automatically identify pages with your keywords. These pages are stored for your ease and can be reviewed at your convenience. Notification of new content containing your keywords will be sent daily to your email with a link to log in.

After following these few easy steps you will be ready to track legal and public notices as they become available.

To get started:

  • Sign-up! Enter your email address, billing information, and get logged in.
  • Click My Search Terms. This is where you can add and edit the keywords you wish to track.
  • Click New Search Term to add keywords you would like the system to monitor.
  • When fresh content is posted, you will be notified by email that notices fitting your keyword have been identified.
  • If you need to see what is currently available, the link Public Notice Site will take you to the search field. You can use this at anytime to test possible keywords you may want to track.
